I can't describe what it has felt like to know you all are there thinking of and caring for my family!

CQ97 and DS14 - Running Behind

The last few days...oh, who am I kidding, the last few weeks have worn me out.
This week I fell behind and I haven't been doing a fabulous job of juggling a family of 7, my
small digi business, my DT responsibilities and a sweet little girl who
wants and needs my attention most all the time.
Yes, something had to slip between the cracks this week and it just happened to
my card designing and posting!

Thankfully, Ella LOVES to draw and color, so doing just that with her and Hannah...is what makes them happy (and allows me to get some of my design work done)!

Speaking of Ella...still no word on an appointment to read the bone scan, but we are being still and waiting! If I don't hear something soon, I think I might have to give them a call!
Thank you all soooo much for your continued prayers! Your love and support is AMAZING!

The first thing I ran behind on this week is Challenge 97 at Colour Q.

Here are this week's colors:
Fun huh?

Here is my card:
I love this Echo Park Paper I got from HERE.
This quirky, lil' cutie, Pippa is a new Bug and Roo Stamp designed by very own, 14 yr old daughter, Hannah. You can find Pippa HERE in the By LORi Designs Digi Shop!

Update on Ella

Good Morning!

WOW! I am OVERWHELMED with thankfulness and extremely touched by the love and care you all have shown us through your comments! I am really blown away and feel so loved and cared about! I feel ashamed that I was hesitant to even write this here on my blog for fear of being too personal, thinking everyone would only want to see cards and not my Real Life! I'm glad God nudged me to post...I thought to myself "Ok, maybe I SHOULD write about Ella...even one more prayer is worth posting for...I never dreamed God would send so many of you to send your love, thoughts, prayers and encouragement to Ella & our family! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!  We have read every comment and read them to Ella...telling her that she has people praying for her all over the world. The thought brings tears to my eyes and makes my heart smile!!  We really feel your prayers and thoughts and can't thank you enough for reaching out to us during this time...they held us & carried us through out our day yesterday! I feel SO BLESSED!!!! I will be praying for each of you as well...praying that God will provide all you need in your life! That He will bless you for taking the time to wrap your arms and heart around us!! ♥

The bone scan is over, however we must wait for an appt. for the results. The doctors and techs who administered the scan were wonderful. Ella did well. The first thing they mentioned was an IV for the injection of the dye and sedation during the scan. All Ella heard was IV and quickly started to panic. I told them we had chosen non-sedation. They said "No, the orders say sedation." Normally, I am timid and never 'talk back" to them, but for Ella I did and insisted they recheck or call someone, because she was not to be sedated. They left, came back and said, "Yes, you are right, no sedation was on the orders!" Whew! By then Ella had had plenty of time to let those 2 little letters I and V resonate in her mind and when it was time to inject the dye, she was in full panic mode. Yelling, screaming and fighting. It took 2 nurses, Eric & myself to hold her down. She may be little, but she is STRONG!!

We were to return 2 hours later for the scan (time to let the radioactive dye travels to her whole body). We returned and she was agitated, grumpy and in pain. I was concerned, explaining that she is always happy and in a pretty good mood...they said that many times children know more than we think they do and that she could be stressed over this whole experience and sickness and we might not realize it or just how much! She surprised us by getting on the table and behaving SO well. The nurse said she was the best patient ever, perfectly still and better than some adults.
It felt like it took forever and right as it was about over...the tech realized they had left the boards from the previous patient in the body of the machine!!! Yes, she had to repeat the entire scan and all the extra individual photos! Yikes! I started to panic then, because I was scared Ella would start to give out and act up. Ella loves music so I asked if they could get some music for her to listen to...they got the music, started the scan and with in 5 fives Ella was sound asleep. I Praised God right then for His NATURAL SEDATION!!! They were able to do everything they needed to do and she never woke until we left. :o)

We will have to wait for a call (with an appt) from the office of the Specialist who ordered the scan to know what the results. I hate to have to wait too long, but I know God will hold us while we do!

Afterwards, we took the kids - - - (yes, we took all 5 and they were perfectly behaved. Even had 3 different ladies ask if they were all ours and then complemented us on how well behaved they were. One lady went on and on about who extremely uncommon that was in this day and age...hee hee...it made us thankful and proud) - - -to eat, a movie (Mr. Popper's Penguins...it was really good), to Half Priced books to spend their $5 Summer Reading Reward Bucks and then straight to Target to let Ella pick any toy she wanted (this had been promised days ago and boy were we thankful she didn't take advantage of the offer and pick the grandest most expensive thing there)!!

Thank you all for lifting us up with your thoughts and prayers! Eric and I talked last night and we both feel a Peace that all is well, the scan will be clear and we will lift HIS name on high and sing his Praises!

We love you all so much and are more thankful than you know for all you have done!
THANK YOU for caring enough to pray for Ella and our family and for requesting prayer on our behave!

Prayers for Ella

I've been holding off writing this post. I don't get real personal on here that often and well, by writing it where all of you can see it makes it really real. I feel lead to share this chapter in our lives here on my blog because I know that although we may not have met face to face, shared a lunch date or even a telephone chat...you, my bloggy friends have huge hearts that care and love!

In June, while Hannah was sick, our 6 yr. old daughter, Ella came to me complaining that her foot was hurting. I thought one of her brothers might have stepped on it or maybe she stumbled over something, so I said a lil' prayer, "Dear Jesus, Please heal Ella's hurt foot! Amen!", then kissed it and sent her off to play.

A couple of days later, she came back to me and said, "Mommy, my foot is hurting again and my hand is too!" This time, I thought she might be a bit jealous of the extra attention that Hannah had been receiving, I quickly repeated what had helped previously...a prayer and a kiss!

Three days passed, and one evening she sat in the floor and started crying...this time her foot, her hand and her ribs (all on the left side) were hurting and she was obviously in pain. I held her, rubbed her foot and prayed. When my husband, Eric got home I told him about the last several days and that now she was crying with pain.  He said it was most likely growing pains, told me he had experienced some intense ones as a child and reminded me that she had gotten taller this year.

A few days later...same thing happened. Being the Worry Mommy that I WAS ( I am really trying to pray against the spirit of fear and worry...it's NOT a good thing)...I immediately started thinking the worst. Eric begged me not to think the worst and to give it to God. On July 4th, we went to our favorite book store...I noticed that each time Ella would bend over to get a book she would softly & quietly say "Ow-wie!". Within 20 minutes, she was crying and saying that her back and head hurt.  We immediately, called and made an appointment for the next morning.

To make a longer story a little shorter...after several trips to the Children's Clinic and quite a few trips to the ER we had no answers other than the doctors here thought it might be Lyme Disease or most likely something Rheumatic. We saw a specialist on July 27th.  We right away knew God had his hands on this situation...for as soon as he walked through the door, Ella threw her hands in the air and with great excitement squealed "You're Chinese!!!"  I was instantly embarrassed and remained that way the whole 2 seconds it took him to throw his hands in the air and with equal enthusiasm squeal..."I AM CHINESE!".  Ella was on Cloud 9 from that moment on.  There is nothing she would like better, than to be Chinese. She asked me years ago if she was really from China...I played along and said, 'Oh Yes you are"...she now thinks she was adopted from China, that she looks "just like" any Asian child she sees and that she can speak Chinese (which mainly consists of words and phrases she picks up from Kai-Lan, mixed with many unrecognizable words).  Yes, we tried several months ago to tell her she isn't Chinese...uh well, let's just say we won't try that again for awhile.  Ok, so back to the doctor visit...He was super nice and very sweet to Ella. We really could not have asked for a better doctor, but what we were told completely came from out of left field to hit us right in the heart. Dr, Ben informed us that after studying her blood tests and doing the physical exam, etc etc...he didn't think it was Rheumatic, he didn't feel it was Arthritic (I was starting to zone out here, because I was really thinking he was about to tell us it was only growing pains as Eric had suggested a couple weeks before) however he believed we were dealing with a malignancy on, in or around the bone or a tumor. I really didn't hear much after that...my mind was racing, I couldn't believe what I thought he had just said. The devil instantly tried to make me believe the worst...I resisted and told myself I had misunderstood what he said so I began listening again. He was telling us (uhhh, Eric) that he would schedule a full bone scan and quickly see what we are dealing with. As we escorted us out the door, I stopped him and said, "I have a question...by malignancy and tumor, are you talking about cancer?"  He said, "Yes, Cancer."  I said, "Ok." then walked down the hall to leave.

I can't say I have not had moments were I have been petrified, moments that the what ifs have nearly driven me crazy, but I can say that each and every time I have felt this way...I ask God to hold us, to protect Ella's body from any attack the devil has formed against her, I ask Him to protect my mind, to take away the worry, fear and doubt, to protect my family from what satan is trying to do and most of all HEAL my Baby Girl!

Tomorrow, we will travel to Lexington to have Ella's much awaited bone scan...Eric, the other kids, our family, our friends and me are all believing that God has already healed Ella's little 35 pound body and that the scan will show NO CANCER in Jesus' Mighty Name. I wanted to ask each of you to agree in prayer with us!  Thank You in advance for caring enough to keep Ella in your prayers! I know without a doubt that prayer is powerful! Thank You for yours!!

I count it a blessing to have each of you to request prayer from!

Love, Hugs & Blessings-
